The Never Ending Week

Not that this should really come as a big surprise to me, but this first week back to work really dragged on. I'm sure it's worse for the boys and maybe even the teachers, but it was equally as long for me...and the dogs.
As I might have mentioned this is the first season I'm not coaching a sport (sorry thirds basketball). Between the growing Web demands, taking over the yearbook and community service I really needed the afternoon to make sure I was caught up on everything. But I make sure that every afternoon I put aside time to take the pups on a walk and hit the gym.
The dog part is easy. Who wouldn't want to leave the office and head home to three smiling slobbering faces? So after ditching my work clothes and trading my flats in for boots the pups and I head out to the "lost fields"...pretty much a playing field in the middle of the woods, but to the dogs it's heaven.
Usually I would take an extra long time playing with the dogs, one because they are very entertaining and two because I really didn't want to go work out. That is until my friends Holly and Laura decided to run a half marathon in March (check out their awesome blog... http://www.lifeisahalfmarathon.blogspot.com/). So now I'm attempting to train with them...a major feet for the girl who until today had never run more than three miles unless it was during a game! So aside from all of the normal things that make the first week back to school/work go by slowly it was compounded by the fact that I was dreading working out and when I was done I couldn't move my body and was completely dead! Oh well...one week down.
Let's see other than that Tripper had his first class of 2011 this Saturday. As always he did a really great job. He was nice to the other dogs in the pen and is starting to not grab onto collars anymore; did his loose leash walking perfectly and was even really good at watch me (his weakest skill). It's always great to go to Fidelco and have class, especially to see the other pups and watch the litter grow up.
Football Sunday.... this should almost be its own post but the McCormick household has had a split day. While the family is celebrating in Baltimore and getting ready for the Steelers (bring it on!!) Philadelphia is cursing up a storm. Luckily for Mike he was able to get out of the house before the game and enjoy a little bit of his Sunday...see the pictures below.

But now the game is over and reality has set in. All I have to say is I hope the boys in Langdon are good tonight...and are easy on Mike during check in.
